VIA RHÔNA

The Lion*** campsite on the Via Rhôna

ViaRhôna is designed to take you from the shores of Lake Geneva to the beaches of the Mediterranean by bike, following the river Rhône. This 815 km cycle route takes you from the panoramas of the Alps to the beaches of the Camargue, in crossing the emblematic landscapes of the Côtes du Rhône vineyards and those of southern Provence From hilltop villages and lavender and olive groves to gastronomic delights. ViaRhôna, a veritable route of civilisations, winds its way through more than 2,000 years of history and rich heritage, alternating between safe greenways and shared routes.

Leaving Châteauneuf-du-Rhône and following the lônes, you will reach Viviers and its medieval soul, Bourg-Saint-Andéol and its mythical bas-relief of the God Mithra. This ViaRhôna stage has a strong heritage flavour, with as many chapels, cathedrals and palaces in these historic towns as you can see... If you're a lover of nature and history, you're sure to fall in love! Itinerary on greenways and minor roads. Signposted on leaving Viviers.
